About Hair extensions  (Everything in a nutshell)

So I recieved this comment on my blog the other day that caught my attention after blogging about doing Hair Extensions in the salon… and it made me smile  …

“I’m glad that I have full thick hair and don’t need extensions.
Sometimes having lots of super thick hair is a pain in the butt,
but I just can’t ever imagine paying so much for some hair extensions.”

I can tell you exactly why she feels this way… and she even says it. Its because she already has thick, healthy hair. Over 3/4 of my clientele has really fine hair that just wont grow, or has had some severe damage to their hair due to over processing or colors on top of colors… Therefore giving them the reason to REALLY NEED hair extensions. In this case, I know I would pay ANYTHING to have great hair…especially if I am physically not able to grow it myself! Of course, all of you that have met me are thinking,”how does she know this??? She has really great hair already!” I know this because I have not always had good hair and needed extensions to help me grow my own hair out  Extensions gave me the confidence I needed to get through the really rough stage of growing my hair out, and also making me feel amazing about myself! To a woman, hair is everything!!! If you wake up and have a really bad hair day, it will ruin your whole day… I know a lot of you are shaking your heads thinking,”that is SO true!” It really is the truth! Thats the part about my job that I just LOVE!!! I love to give that extra confidence to a woman that has never experienced a GREAT hair day! Not only that, but being able to do it day after day looking great all the time. That is something that if you already have “good” hair, you will NEVER be able to understand.

And then… there is the price. After what I just said, I would pay anything to have great hair every single day! Even though some think my price is too high, or “outrageous”… I am much, much lower than our surrounding cities. I also plan on staying in the price bracket I am for as long as I possibly can!  I had someone tell me the other day…”Your prices are much too high since I know the cost of the hair. You are way over-charging” The only thing I have to say to that is…Do you walk into Ruth’s Chris steak house and demand to know why their steaks are $60 when Bilo sells them for $10 each??? No, you GO to Ruth’s Chris for the experience you will get, The training the chef has (even though you never see  him, he is the reason the food is so amazing)  the service you will receive and the pampering you feel while doing it. THAT is the reason my prices are what they are. I am not for everyone, and I am OK with that… With that being said, (big smile…) Here are 2 amazing women that I had this week.

 

 

 

 

One of the biggest questions I get so often is… Can extensions damage your hair? YES they CAN!!! I will be the firs to tell you that you cannot just go to anyone to get extensions done and expect that your experience and your hair are in good hands! I CAN however tell you that I do not just throw some extensions in your hair and send you out the door! Kristen and I are very educated and spend a LOT of time educating you and teaching you how to care for your new hair. There isn’t much to it, but a few wrong steps, and you are heading in the wrong direction and your hair can damage fast! This photo is from a girl that got them done in New York and the stylist told her it was fine to just come every 4 months to get a new set! First of all, anyone that tells you that your extensions will last you 4 months is lying! And second, look at how much tangling is there… who would EVER want to go through that? WE have a solution to this problem!!! WE want your hair to be healthier than when you initially got your extensions, and continue down the path of GREAT, HEALTHY HAIR!

Best Hair Extensions in South Carolina

Hey everyone!

Its Sunday afternoon and I am totally chilled out listening to Songza (You will have to check it out!) Its a free music site similar to Pandora. I have been totally enjoying it lately! So I hope everyone has had a fantastic summer! I know I did!

So a couple of things I wanted to update everyone on! FIRST OFF… MOROCCANOIL just came out with a  Clarifying Shampoo and a volumizing mouse!!! Super excited about that! I will have the clarifying shampoo in stock next week and the mouse by next month! Cant wait to try them out 🙂 Also wanted to share a video on here for the perfect blow dry by MOROCCANOIL

Celebrity Hair Extensions

Who doesn’t want celebrity hair??? I know I, myself, strive to have gorgeous hair just like all the famous women out there! I have had an extremely interesting week so far! Lets see, where do I start? First, I am proud to say that my business has finally gone international and my website is getting hits from all over the WORLD!! How freaking cool is that??? I got a call from a girl, Tamra, that is going to travel to me from Canada just to get her hair done! She has never been to the United States and is planning on coming in April JUST to see me!! She is also planning on seeing some of Greenville and stay the weekend after getting her hair done!!! I was so excited, I felt like a little girl and wanted to jump on my bed and squeal! lol Yes, Yes, that is childish, but that is exactly how I felt…

Then yesterday I got a call from Christina who is getting married in Aug. She is getting her extensions done in May and flying us down to have me do her hair in St Thomas for her wedding!!!!!! Can I get a “Hell Yeah” on that one!!! So needless to say, I have been on cloud nine all week.

…Until this evening when I received a phone call from an unhappy client that was in the salon last week…. There was a series of things that happened, and I wont bore you with all the details, I am only saying this to say….this… I know that I am not the worlds best hair stylist, and I know that I am not perfect. But one thing I KNOW is I try VERY  hard to have only happy clients in my chair. This client was very upset that I had not returned a phone call last week after I put a few extensions in, on a whim for her. I received her voice mail while I was in the hospital with my husband who had just gotten out of surgery. I quickly responded with a text saying I was sorry I couldn’t answer, and I would return her call later. (she never received that text) Unfortunately, I completely forgot to return her call. It totally slipped my mind. When I was reminded today that I had not called her back I immediately called her to apologize to her. In the mean-time, she had NO idea what I had been through over the weekend… assumed that I was intentionally ignoring her, and went to another extension stylist this week. “I lost a client due to lack of customer service”

So after saying all of that…. Even though the conversation didn’t go as I had hoped it would go, I got this from our conversation… I can ALWAYS improve on my customer service and I plan to never let this happen again. (as well as never doing extensions on a whim like that) lol SO… naturally I have a heavy heart bc I am the type of person that wants everyone to be happy, ESP with their hair!!! When I get criticism, even when Its meant to hurt and tear me down, I can take it and use it to better myself AND my business! I am thankful we talked and I plan on never having another problem again! 🙂 (being very optimistic!) Thank you anonymous client 🙂 You have helped me more than you will ever know!

On a EVEN BETTER NOTE!!! I received my first shirts in today to get a sneak peek of them!!! I will post a photo… THEY ARE SOOOO ADORABLE!

The white shirts will be $24 and black shirts will be custom pre-ordered at $40 each. Dont ask me why they cost so much more, it makes absolutely NO sense to me!!! lol something to do with the screen printing and the process, but I happen to be a “black shirt” kind of girl, and Im the type that WOULD pay double just to have a cute shirt! lol So it is, what it is…

Here are the 3 extensions I had this week! This has been a really incredible week for me… and Im exhausted and SOOO ready for St Lucia!!! Whoo HOO!!!

My first little girl is Sarah, This is her second time getting extensions from me… long story, but she has been through a lot and I am extremely proud of her! I am also proud that her hair turned out so great… again 🙂 Here are her photos!

My next girl, I am going to brag on a just a bit… lol Judy traveled to get her hair done by me from Afghanistan! She is an american living in Afghanistan… she planned to come home to visit her children, but made her first pit stop to see me to do her hair. So I guess I can technically say Hair by Adelle is now nation Wide! 🙂 So to say the least, yeah, Im pretty flattered, so I had to brag for a minute! :)She had not had her hair done in 6 months, so she got a TOTAL makeover in my chair… color, cut and extensions!

Brightened up her red color with a few highlights also, as well as a layered style with extensions.

GORGEOUS!!!

This girl traveled to me from Columbia SC… which seems to be a growing area for me! I have well over 10 clients from the Columbia area now. Its not that bad of a drive… and of course its TOTALLY worth it! She has been getting perms her whole life and had never had color done on her hair. I recommended we go darker to really bring out her eyes, as well as getting rid of her last perm 🙂 ( I cant stand perms… but that is just my personal opinion) SO, here are her photos!

This is after…. WOW!!! I LOVE it soooo much! Love the darker hair and the length looks so amazing on her!

Hair Extensions at Affordable Cost + Hair by Adelle

Hey everyone! I have been so amazed at how busy this season has been! I had 4 extensions in 3 days last week, plus all my other regular maintenance ladies… Needless to say it was one of the busiest weeks of my life! Before I post those before and after photos, I wanted to remind everyone of my Facebook discount going on right now! Ok so here are my recent before and after photos from last week…

This is Joy, She came to me to fullness mainly as well as a little bit of length. She has the type of hair that just wont grow past a certain length. Her ends are very thin and straggly.

 

Now you can see the fullness and richness the extensions gave her. No matter what your age or who you are, thicker hair will make you look younger. Thin hair is 1 of the top aging things about a woman. I think she look younger and healthier, and all we did was add some hair!!! How awesome is that?

 

This is Jessica, She was wanting length and fullness. She has some damage due to over processing with bleach.

I added a warmer low-light that will not damage her hair and allow for her hair to become healthier while wearing the extensions. It softened her skin tone and really brought out her eyes. Then we added the fusion extensions for the length and fullness. These particular extensions have a body wave to them, so she can wear them wavy, curly or straight. 

This is Patty, she has been diagnosed with Lupus. As a result of this disease it has thinned her hair out. In my opinion she has great hair for extensions!

Wow, after adding a warmer darker brown all thruoght her her, we added the fusion extensions. They are so perfect for her hair since the extensions I use can be cut to whatever thickness I want. (half sized or 1/4 sized) I used the half size for her hair which gave her a lot of thickness and volume… as well as shine all while looking 100% natural! It took 10 years + off of her I think!

This is Kathy, she was looking for mainly fullness… So we decided to go with hot heads extensions. 2 reasons I decided to do this was when you are mainly adding just fullness, the hot heads tend to cover more head with less hair, as well as they will not look stringy. The fusion method would not have worked on Kathy with her fine hair and not adding much length.

This is Sharron, She wanted to change her total look… I wish I would have had my camera on the day we changed her color to this vibrant copper red… Its has really spiced up her look.
