Salon Adelle has been super busy since the new year and we are so excited for what’s to come now that we’re finally settling into the new salon.  We wanted to drop in and talk a little bit about a really popular question that a lot of people have.  “Why are salon products more beneficial to me and my hair?” GOOD QUESTION! 🙂

Let me give you an analogy to better understand how it works.  The products that you can find outside of the salon at places like Ulta, Sephora, CVS or your local grocery store are a lot like a house.  A house that has been sold to a new owner can keep the outside looking just the same, but can totally change everything on the inside.  Those products when bought out by a new owner go through the same transformation.  The new owners keep the outside looking the same, but change the ingredients within to make for a cheaper production.

It is vitally important to have a good relationship with your stylist.  You want to be able to trust them and have open communication with them on what you need for your hair & lifestyle.  We are able to do that with the clientele we have because of the extended education on products that we attend throughout each year.  We pride ourselves in staying up on the newest, latest and always BEST for our clients.  We want all of you to be able to reproduce the look & feel you get from us at the salon at home too!  To do so, you need the same support material we use here at the salon.

The products that we sell &  carry here at our salon have not only been number one on the market, and highly recommended by our awesome sales rep, but have been tested and used personally by us to assure the integrity of the product that we are standing behind.  Our products have very different ingredients than that of non-salon grade products.

Our products sold at Salon Adelle:

So I recieved this comment on my blog the other day that caught my attention after blogging about doing Hair Extensions in the salon… and it made me smile  …

“I’m glad that I have full thick hair and don’t need extensions.
Sometimes having lots of super thick hair is a pain in the butt,
but I just can’t ever imagine paying so much for some hair extensions.”

I can tell you exactly why she feels this way… and she even says it. Its because she already has thick, healthy hair. Over 3/4 of my clientele has really fine hair that just wont grow, or has had some severe damage to their hair due to over processing or colors on top of colors… Therefore giving them the reason to REALLY NEED hair extensions. In this case, I know I would pay ANYTHING to have great hair…especially if I am physically not able to grow it myself! Of course, all of you that have met me are thinking,”how does she know this??? She has really great hair already!” I know this because I have not always had good hair and needed extensions to help me grow my own hair out  Extensions gave me the confidence I needed to get through the really rough stage of growing my hair out, and also making me feel amazing about myself! To a woman, hair is everything!!! If you wake up and have a really bad hair day, it will ruin your whole day… I know a lot of you are shaking your heads thinking,”that is SO true!” It really is the truth! Thats the part about my job that I just LOVE!!! I love to give that extra confidence to a woman that has never experienced a GREAT hair day! Not only that, but being able to do it day after day looking great all the time. That is something that if you already have “good” hair, you will NEVER be able to understand.

And then… there is the price. After what I just said, I would pay anything to have great hair every single day! Even though some think my price is too high, or “outrageous”… I am much, much lower than our surrounding cities. I also plan on staying in the price bracket I am for as long as I possibly can!  I had someone tell me the other day…”Your prices are much too high since I know the cost of the hair. You are way over-charging” The only thing I have to say to that is…Do you walk into Ruth’s Chris steak house and demand to know why their steaks are $60 when Bilo sells them for $10 each??? No, you GO to Ruth’s Chris for the experience you will get, The training the chef has (even though you never see  him, he is the reason the food is so amazing)  the service you will receive and the pampering you feel while doing it. THAT is the reason my prices are what they are. I am not for everyone, and I am OK with that… With that being said, (big smile…) Here are 2 amazing women that I had this week.

 

 

 

 

One of the biggest questions I get so often is… Can extensions damage your hair? YES they CAN!!! I will be the firs to tell you that you cannot just go to anyone to get extensions done and expect that your experience and your hair are in good hands! I CAN however tell you that I do not just throw some extensions in your hair and send you out the door! Kristen and I are very educated and spend a LOT of time educating you and teaching you how to care for your new hair. There isn’t much to it, but a few wrong steps, and you are heading in the wrong direction and your hair can damage fast! This photo is from a girl that got them done in New York and the stylist told her it was fine to just come every 4 months to get a new set! First of all, anyone that tells you that your extensions will last you 4 months is lying! And second, look at how much tangling is there… who would EVER want to go through that? WE have a solution to this problem!!! WE want your hair to be healthier than when you initially got your extensions, and continue down the path of GREAT, HEALTHY HAIR!

Best Hair Extensions for Fine, Fragile Hair {Hair by Adelle}

Hey there everyone! I know it has been a hot minute since I last blogged. But I have totally good reasons 🙂 Just for the Month of May we have seen 112 total clients in 10 full days of working. That is totally freaking awesome and May isn’t even over YET! Now dont get me wrong, Kristen and I work our BUTTS OFF when we are at the salon. What to eat to get healthy hair + Hair by Adelle

Its been a lot of talk lately in the salon about how to have healthy hair. Well I have been doing a lot of research on the side to find out why someones hair may grow healthier than someone else’s. Well my conclusion is that in this day and  age we all don’t eat the best that we could, and that reflects through our hair, skin and nails.  When I saw this list however, it happens to be some of my FAV foods, all which are high in protein. I borrowed this from The Ladies Home Journal, but every research that I did had these same foods listed.  As women I know how important it is to have great hair… Which is the number 1 reason I specialize in extensions, and also recommend using the best products available. MOROCCAN OIL is the leading #1 product in the WORLD! I will do a whole different blog on that because I can go on forever about it 🙂 I only sell products I 100% believe in!

Good hair nutrition begins with getting enough protein, which is the building block of your hair. Then you need complex carbohydrates to help assemble the proteins for hair growth. “Once you’ve considered protein, then getting iron in absorb-able forms is one of the single most important minerals as far as hair growth is concerned,” says Thompson. Other important vitamins and minerals include B complex, which is associated with energy production and building good hair and skin issues, folic acid, B12, and zinc.

In his book The Hair Bible: A Complete Guide to Health and Care (Aurum, 2003), famed hairdresser Philip Kingsley stresses the importance of eating a healthy and protein-packed breakfast each day. He says that in the morning your energy levels to your hair follicles are at their lowest. Here, a list of foods that Thompson and Kingsley recommend be consumed along with fresh fruits and vegetables.

BEEF

If you don’t have high cholesterol, Thompson recommends eating red meat twice a week for optimal hair health. Not only does beef have the protein you need, but also B vitamins, iron, and zinc, important minerals for healthy hair.

Recommended Serving Size: 3.5 ounces of roasted, lean beef, 175 calories

EGGS OR EGG WHITES

Vegetarian? Can’t eat red meat for health reasons? Then egg whites are the way to go. “If you can’t eat an animal protein, egg whites are the next best thing,” says Thompson. “Their value is underestimated in our society.”

Recommended Serving Size: One large egg, 84 calories

BROWN SHORT-GRAIN RICE

You should have complex carbohydrates, which feed you energy over a longer period of time than refined carbohydrates, with your protein source at meals. Brown short-grain rice is an ideal form. It’s also a good source of B vitamins and some fiber.

Recommended Serving Size: 1/4 cup dry rice, 179 calories

COTTAGE CHEESE

Try low-fat cottage cheese for a protein-packed breakfast or lunch on the go when you don’t have time to make eggs. Top it with some fresh berries for an added serving of fruit. Plus, cottage cheese is also a good source of calcium.

Recommended Serving Size: Scant half cup of 1 percent fat cottage cheese, 72 calories

BACON

Although it’s not a good food to eat if you’re trying to lose weight, Kingsley recommends eating a normal serving of bacon for extra B vitamins, zinc, and protein.

Recommended Serving Size: Fried bacon, 3.5 ounces, 576 calories

SALMON

Try it smoked or fresh at breakfast, lunch, or dinner for a good dose of protein along with B vitamins, including B12, and other vitamins and minerals.

Hey everyone!

Its Sunday afternoon and I am totally chilled out listening to Songza (You will have to check it out!) Its a free music site similar to Pandora. I have been totally enjoying it lately! So I hope everyone has had a fantastic summer! I know I did!

So a couple of things I wanted to update everyone on! FIRST OFF… MOROCCANOIL just came out with a  Clarifying Shampoo and a volumizing mouse!!! Super excited about that! REASON FOR GETTING EXTENSIONS: I wanted extension because unlike my parents, being naturally blonde I wasn’t blessed with thick hair. My was fine and thin which was a hinderance when I wanted to grow my hair long because it would never look full and hold volume once it got below my shoulders. ADVICE TO YOU!: After having my extensions for 7 months I absolutely could not imagine not having them. They are so easy and fun, and never leave me disappointed!

I’ve never been a part of anything glamorous like this that wasn’t geared more towards my horses than me.   Of course you know how I do all the performances with my horses at rodeos, and with Rodeo, if you don’t have big hair you don’t have a chance.. Professional rodeos have become more like fashion shows, and especially with me being the entertainment it is imperative that my hair and I look our best at all times..  I have always had very thin lifeless blonde hair and before I had to wear painful inconvenient clip in extensions to gain the desired length and fullness.. I knew I wanted true extensions but I was nervous about the quality.  When I saw your website I knew I had to have them and you!! Being a poor college student, the extensions were way beyond my budget, but im a firm believer in getting what you pay for and I knew I could find a way to make it work..
I have never been more confident while im performing because I know that even if I make a mistake I have a beautiful thick flowing mane that will cause some distraction ..
People are constantly asking and commenting about how “beautiful” my hair is, I can’t even keep it a secret and I tell them all about it, and of course where I got it done.. Hey there everyone!

What a whirlwind of the last 2 weeks its been! But OH so fun! 🙂 I had over 7 extensions in 2 weeks AND went to VEGAS for 4 days! WHEW! I will post a few photos from our trip to Vegas, but first, I would like to share with everyone the past few ladies and their amazing new hair 🙂

You know you are on the fence about getting extensions, but you also know that every time you look in the mirror at your hair, you feel disappointment and discouraged. I know you that are desperately wanting to have longer, thicker, amazing hair…you need to just do it! Every SINGLE ONE OF THESE GIRLS would tell you the same thing. It will make you feel so much better about yourself and feel amazing when you look in the mirror from the day you do it and never look back again! 🙂
