October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! During this month, many people put efforts into showing their commitment to this cause…

 

Our mission is simple, to turn something pink… “go pink for October” in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer. Kristen and I are offering PINK hair extensions. All sales of pink hair extensions will go directly to several local woman struggling with breast cancer. Hair Extensions – Hair by Adelle

Hey there everyone!

So I did it again, I sprained my ankle which is why I am actually having time to write this blog! 😦 I have been so crazy busy with no down time…so now I am being forced to sit in this chair and stare at this computer… Oh well, maybe this is a sign I should slow down more often 🙂 The good part is that this coming week will be my most busy week I have EVER had in the history of HBA! (hopefully I can move around fast enough) I have a total of 6 NEW extensions this coming week! CRAZY!!! I am so super excited about it!

I have been LOVING the emails that you all are sending in for the photo contest! They have all either made me cry or laugh! It will be so hard to decide who will be the top 8! There is still time to enter the contest… Remember, all you have to do it write me an email about how your extensions has changed your life. Keep in mind that if you are chosen, you will be featured on my blog with the email that you write me 🙂 As well as the front page of my website!!! Speaking of photo shoots….

Travis and I went to Savannah last weekend and Travis and I got some pretty amazing photos while we were there. We were testing out our AMAZING NEW CAMERA for TAG Photography.

This is one of my favorites!

I had this one printed in a 30×45 Gallery wrap canvas to put in our dinning room! I cant WAIT to get it in!!!

This one just takes my breath away! We sat on the roof top of the hotel bar for hours trying to capture the lightning we were seeing! Well, it paid off, here are the lightning shots we got! 🙂

So anyways, even though these have nothing to do with hair extensions, I thought I would share them anyway! I love art which happens to be why I am good at doing hair… Hair is absolutely the work of an artist. Its just all depends on how good the artist might be 🙂

Want Thick, Longer Hair? Hair by Adelle

So I recieved this comment on my blog the other day that caught my attention… and made me laugh a little bit :)…

“I’m glad that I have full thick hair and don’t need extensions.
Sometimes having lots of super thick hair is a pain in the butt,
but I just can’t ever imagine paying so much for some hair extensions.”

I can tell you exactly why she feels this way… and she even says it. Its because she already has thick, healthy hair. Over 3/4 of my clientele has really fine hair that just wont grow, or has had some severe damage to their hair due to over processing or colors on top of colors… Therefore giving them the reason to REALLY NEED hair extensions. In this case, I know I would pay ANYTHING to have great hair…especially if I am physically not able to grow it myself! Of course, all of you that have met me are thinking,”how does she know this??? She has really great hair already!” I know this because I have not always had good hair and needed extensions to help me grow my own hair out 🙂 Extensions gave me the confidence I needed to get through the really rough stage of growing my hair out, and also making me feel amazing about myself! To a woman, hair is everything!!! If you wake up and have a really bad hair day, it will ruin your whole day… I know a lot of you are shaking your heads thinking,”that is SO true!” It really is the truth! Thats the part about my job that I just LOVE!!! I love to give that extra confidence to a woman that has never experienced a GREAT hair day! Not only that, but being able to do it day after day looking great all the time. That is something that if you already have “good” hair, you will NEVER be able to understand. I cannot wait to share with everyone all the emails I have been receiving to enter the photo shoots contest! I have cried, laughed and re-read all of them! They all have touched my heart and they will touch yours too!

And then… there is the price. After what I just said, I would pay anything to have great hair every single day! Even though some think my price is too high, or “outrageous”… I am much, much lower than our surrounding cities. I also plan on staying in the price bracket I am for as long as I possibly can! 🙂 I had someone tell me the other day…”Your prices are much too high since I know the cost of the hair. You are way over-charging” The only thing I have to say to that is…Do you walk into Ruth’s Chris steak house and demand to know why their steaks are $60 when Bilo sells them for $10 each??? No, you GO to Ruth’s Chris for the experience you will get, the service you will receive and the pampering you feel while doing it. THAT is the reason my prices are what they are. I am not for everyone, and I am OK with that… With that being said, (big smile…) Here are 2 amazing women that I had this week.

Reason for coming to HBA: She has thinning hair in her family history and has been thinning out over the years. Some might say she has good hair already, but it wasnt the hair she once had. Extensions are perfect for her to give her the thickness she needs as well as the length she has wanted for a long time 🙂

Reason for coming to HBA: Katie has had a bad experience with bleaching. She use to have long hair in high school, but her hair is fine, and she wants it to be lighter than her natural color. Unfortunately with bleach and fine hair, you end up with damage. Over several years of damage, her hair just quit getting any longer before breaking off. She also had a good friend, Nikki, that is also one of my extension clients!

Extension Pricing, How much do extensions Cost?

Hey there everyone! I am away from the salon this week and its been a much needed time to get away again. If you have ever met me, you can tell that I LOVE my job and tend to work a little too much. Therefore if I don’t take vacations, I will never get a break! So even though it seems as though I go on vacations a lot, its simply because these days are my only days off. Travis, my husband and I also own a photography company and specialize in wedding photography. When I’m away from the salon Sat, Sun, Mon… we usually have a wedding or lots of editing to do 🙂 So I stay very busy… but its what I love to do! 🙂

So the main question I get when people call in to inquire about extensions is…”How much do you charge?” My pricing is based on how many years of experience I have had as well as the amount of clients I serve. I know its sometimes hard to understand why anyone could charge so much for hair…however, Its taken me my whole career to get to this price point that I am at. This is also my main focus. Yes I also do cuts and colors, but the majority of my clientele all have extensions. I can promise that you will get an amazing experience with me and will be very happy with your extensions. I do not do extensions on someone if I do not think their hair will support them and ALSO if I think they will not look good, I will tell you! Because this is my main focus, I do not “need” new clients… This also allows for me to be honest with you about your hair. I want you to  be just as good as a fit for me as I am for you! This leads to the consultation. I do require all clients be seen prior to getting extensions. We sit down and talk about why you want extensions and get more in depth about the process of getting your new hair.

I honestly think price should be the last thing on how you choose your extension artist. Extensions is so much more than…just adding some hair. Its all in the placement, the parting, the amount of hair, the care of them… and the list goes on. I am very good at what I do, and I think my pictures speak for themselves.

My prices range from $800-$1500. This price includes your color, application, cut and style.

Here are a few tips on choosing your extension stylist:

• Just make sure that anyone you use is highly experienced in whatever technique they plan to use because if not attached properly and removed properly, you run a serious risk of having hair extensions damage your natural hair beyond repair.
• To try to avoid this scenario, always ask lots of questions up front so you understand the stylist’s plan for attachment and removal.
• Also ask for photos of his or her work so you can be sure you like the results achieved.
• Finally, ask for a price quote up front, since what you can expect to spend can span in a wide range.

Hair Extensions at Affordable Cost + Hair by Adelle

Hey everyone! I have been so amazed at how busy this season has been! I had 4 extensions in 3 days last week, plus all my other regular maintenance ladies… Needless to say it was one of the busiest weeks of my life! Ok so here are my recent before and after photos from last week…

This is Joy, She came to me to fullness mainly as well as a little bit of length. She has the type of hair that just wont grow past a certain length. Her ends are very thin and straggly.

 

Now you can see the fullness and richness the extensions gave her. No matter what your age or who you are, thicker hair will make you look younger. Thin hair is 1 of the top aging things about a woman. I think she look younger and healthier, and all we did was add some hair!!! How awesome is that?

 

This is Jessica, She was wanting length and fullness. She has some damage due to over processing with bleach.

I added a warmer low-light that will not damage her hair and allow for her hair to become healthier while wearing the extensions. It softened her skin tone and really brought out her eyes. Then we added the fusion extensions for the length and fullness. These particular extensions have a body wave to them, so she can wear them wavy, curly or straight. 

This is Patty, she has been diagnosed with Lupus. As a result of this disease it has thinned her hair out. In my opinion she has great hair for extensions!

Wow, after adding a warmer darker brown all thruoght her her, we added the fusion extensions. They are so perfect for her hair since the extensions I use can be cut to whatever thickness I want. (half sized or 1/4 sized) I used the half size for her hair which gave her a lot of thickness and volume… as well as shine all while looking 100% natural! It took 10 years + off of her I think!

This is Kathy, she was looking for mainly fullness… So we decided to go with hot heads extensions. 2 reasons I decided to do this was when you are mainly adding just fullness, the hot heads tend to cover more head with less hair, as well as they will not look stringy. The fusion method would not have worked on Kathy with her fine hair and not adding much length.
